Dr. Ali Afzal has an extensive 22 years of senior leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry with renowned multinational company in Pakistan. He completed Bachelors of Medicine & Surgery from Liaquat Medical College in 1991. In addition he also had exposure to Business education from American & European Management Association. He has a versatile experience of directly handling various departments including Sales & Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, International Business Development etc. Before joining OPAL Laboratories as Chairman his last assignment was Managing Director of OBS Pakistan (Pvt) Limited. During his 17 years career with OBS Pakistan he played an instrumental role in management buyout of Organon Pakistan & acquisition of Merck Sharp & Dhome Pakistan, Schering Plough Pakistan, AGP and Johnson & Johnson Pakistan pharmaceutical operations in Pakistan. In October 2016 he decided to depart from OBS to utilize and invest his dynamic experience in his own venture thereby joining OPAL Laboratories. Post take over In February 2017 he became the Chairman of OPAL Laboratories (Pvt.) Limited.

Dr. Jehanzeb has over 20 years of diverse experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He has done Bachelors in Medicine & Surgery, followed by Masters in Business Administration. He started his career in 1997 with Barrett Hodgson (Pvt.) Ltd. in the marketing department. In 1998 Dr. Jehanzeb joined Organon Pakistan where he quickly moved up the ladder and became Head of Marketing department in 2001. Considering his strong marketing and management skills he was moved on to an international assignment as Marketing Manager of Organon Saudi Arabia in 2004. In 2006 NV Organon decided to reorganize their Pakistan Operations, hence Dr. Jehanzeb came back to Pakistan as Director Marketing & Sales and became part of the management buyout of Organon Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. In 2008 when OBS took over MSD Pakistan Operations he was promoted as Group Director Marketing & Sales to head the commercial operations for the entire group. In 2012 he became Director Strategic Planning & New Business Development. In 2013 he became the Executive Director Manufacturing Operations for OBS Pakistan. In 2014 he got the additional responsibility to head the OBS Shadowing Team that was responsible for the Johnson & Johnson Pakistan Pharmaceutical Operations transaction, following which he was promoted as Managing Director of Aspin Pharma (Pvt) Ltd, the subsidiary of OBS that took over Johnson & Johnson Pakistan Pharmaceutical Operations. Dr. Jehanzeb has been one of the four key founding members of OBS group that have spear headed the rapid development journey of the group. In August 2016 he decided to depart from OBS to utilize and invest his dynamic experience in his own venture thereby joining OPAL Laboratories. Post take over In February 2017 he became the CEO of OPAL Laboratories (Pvt.) Limited.

Mr. Farrukh Ansari is a seasoned M&A specialist, with more than 17 years of transactional experience across a range of sectors and industries including healthcare & pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, automobiles, power & energy. He began his professional career at Citi-Bank in 1996, gaining valuable experience in the fields of finance & equity management before launching the IJARA Group in 2000. Farrukh introduced IJARA’s M&A division in 2006, with successful execution of numerous transactions in Pakistan and abroad. From modest beginnings, Farrukh has transformed IJARA into a national financial powerhouse with a special position in the healthcare & pharmaceutical sector. He also played a key supporting role to one of Pakistan’s top-10 transnational pharma companies, as an integral part of its journey since its inception to becoming the 10th largest pharma group of Pakistan in a period of 9 years which included acquisition for the group of Organon Pakistan (subsidiary of Akzo Nobel, Netherlands), MSD Pakistan & MSD Sri Lanka (subsidiary of Merck USA), Schering Plough Pakistan (subsidiary of Schering Plough, USA), AGP & AGP Healthcare (owner of Eli Lilly brands in Pakistan), Johnson & Johnson (subsidiary of Schering Plough, USA). Apart from Farrukh’s expertise in M&A, he has also been the part of certain transactions to turn around the companies from distress level to main stream companies in its field of operation. He currently serves as a first and only Pakistani to represent as Member of Advisory Board of Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council UK, Chairman of Capital Markets & Securities Committee of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI); Member of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry; Director, Pak-Sri Lanka Business Council, Chairman of Banking Credit & Finance Committee of Small & Medium Enterprises Alliance (SMEA). Farrukh also serves on the Board of Directors for IJARA Group and Investee Companies for IJARA Holdings (Private) Limited, IJARA Capital Partners Limited, Al-Tadamon Modaraba Limited, Wellinnova Life Sciences (Private) Limited, Kingsmann Pharmacies Limited & Quick Foods Industries (Private) Limited.

Mr. Zeeshan Mobin has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and financial services sectors, is a Fellow member of Paksitan’s Institute of Chartered Accountants, and has completed his Chartered Management Accountancy from Pakistan. He is also a member of Institute of Public Accountants, Australia. Zeeshan began his Finance career in 1996 as Assistant Manager with A. F. Ferguson & Co. Chartered Accountants – a member firm of Price Water House Coopers (PWC). In 1997 Zeeshan joined Engro Corporation, serving as Head of Accounts at Engro Vopak. From 2000 – 2003 he served as Internal Auditor and subsequently Head of Plant Accounting for the Engro Chemical (Daharki) manufacturing facility. He subsequently joined Organon Pakistan as Financial Controller in 2003, playing an instrumental role in the Management Buy-Out of Organon Pakistan from Akzo Nobel (Netherlands), and growth of the Pharma Group through acquisitions: MSD Pakistan (2008), MSD Sri Lanka (2009), Schering Plough Pakistan (2010), AGP and AGP Health care (2014) and Jannsen/J&J Pakistan (2015). In 2016, Zeeshan joined IJARA Holdings as CEO and also serving on the Board of IJARA Capital as a Director and Chairman of its Investment Committee (IC). He is also serving on the Board of Wellinnova Life sciences (Pvt) Ltd.

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed has more than 22 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience. He has done his Bachelors in Engineering followed by Masters in Environmental Engineering from NED University, Karachi.In 1994, he started his career from Abbott Laboratories, he looked after operations and maintenance.In 1995 he joined German based set up Merck Serono as a Plant Engineer. In 1997 he had been appointed as Manager Engineering & Projects in Sandoz and after a few merger activities he had been promoted as a Head of Engineering/EHS & Projects at Novartis Pharma Pakistan.In 2005, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed joined Wyeth Pakistan as GM Engineering/EHS & Projects. In 2007, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed joined Merck Sharp & Dohme of Pakistan and looked after Operation & Maintenance, Projects & Health Safety /Environment. In 2010 he had been promoted as Director Production, Engineering & EHS. In 2012, he took a role of Technical Director for OBS Pakistan followed by Director Technical Operation in 2014. In May 2016, he joined Opal Laboratories as a Senior Director Technical Operations and promoted as Managing Director in January 2019

Mr. M. Kamran Ansaree, General Manager Sales & Distribution, is responsible for Sales, Distribution, Business Intelligence, Sales Force Excellence & Marketing Services. He is a result-oriented and visionary professional with extensive background of more than 20 years’ working experience in Pharmaceutical industry. By Qualifications, he is an MBA (Marketing) with Masters of Economics and now a days he is doing his MS/M-Phil in Marketing & Sales. His extensive working experience includes Sales Management, Sales Analysis & Reporting Systems, New Business Identification & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Business Intelligence, Sales Force Excellence, Distribution (National & Regional Distribution System) and Marketing Services in pharmaceutical industry. He has good experience to launch new business divisions of Consumer Health Products, Nutraceuticals Products and Pharmaceutical Products and have worked on some special projects at manufacturing plant as well. He is a very good team player and strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and drive team members to deliver timely results. He has established a record of high performance and achievements in a series of increasingly responsible and challenging management positions.
